Gotcha! This beautiful praying mantis drove me crazy. She was sitting on a fence as I was trying to take a picture but then she climbed onto my camera. I tried to have her sit on my hand but she kept going back to the camera. So I called to my daughter to bring another camera and as she’s climbing from camera to camera I finally got her! She does have a surprised look on her face! More praying mantis here.
Rock Pigeon at the Train Station
This rock pigeon kept us company at the train station waiting for us to share our food with him. So we did him the favor and I got a picture for myself. The angle makes him look like he’s gigantic, but he was just your average pigeon size.
Red Hairy Jumping Spider
I have no idea what kind of spider this is. All I know about it is that it can jump! So this picture was taken with the one-arm-extended-please-don’t-jump-now-praying-technique 🙂
Orb-Weaver Spider
Well hello there! Almost walked into the web which was about 7 by 5 feet! It reached from the patio floor to the patio cover. According to a friend of mine this is one of about 1500 species of orb-weavers. They’re beneficial to us two-leggers.
View from Le Meridien in San Francisco
This is the spectacular view to the Bay Bridge from the 23rd floor at the Le Meridien in San Francisco! I’m not afraid of heights, but I did get dizzy standing on the balcony; not dizzy enough though to Not take this shot.
California Street – San Francisco
As we were huffing and puffing up California Street in San Francisco, people much older than us were passing us, haha! On one of our many breaks, about two thirds up, I turned around and took this shot.
Banned Books at City Lights Bookstore
City Lights book store in San Francisco maintains a shelf dedicated to banned books. A world without 1984, Naked Lunch or Ulysses? Inconceivable! One of the last remaining independent bookstores, City Lights Bookstore is a gem that still has the air of the Beats and hippies. Read more about the City Lights Bookstore here. The owner, Lawrence Ferlinghetti is a poet and has owned the store for over 60 years!
Behind City Lights Book Store
The City Lights book store in San Francisco isn’t just awesome on the inside, even the streets around it are interesting. 😉
When you Drink Water…
“When you drink water, think of its source.” Saw this behind the City Lights book store in San Francisco. Don’t know how long it’s been there, but this call for awareness has never been more important than now.
View from San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
This was taken from inside SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art through a dirty window. Still, great view!
